About COPPER 3DP and Como Precision
COPPER 3DP is the copper additive manufacturing service operated by Suzhou Como Precision Materials Co., Ltd., also presented internationally as Como Precision.
We support engineers and purchasing teams sourcing function-critical copper parts. Typical projects include cold plates, heat exchangers, heat sinks, busbars, induction coils, RF and vacuum hardware, semiconductor equipment components, and tooling inserts with internal cooling.
How Projects Are Run
Each project is run by one engineering team from first review to delivery. We review the drawing or thermal brief, recommend the material and manufacturing route, and plan LPBF production, heat treatment, CNC finishing, surface treatment, inspection, and export documentation around the finished component.
A finished copper part usually needs several processes. Planning them as one route, rather than quoting a printed blank, keeps sealing faces, material condition, and acceptance evidence consistent.
The formal quotation states the material, manufacturing scope, finishing, inspection, documentation, lead time, and commercial terms for the specific project.
Engineering Support
- DFM review of walls, channels, fins, supports, powder removal, datums, and machining stock, with redesign proposals when a part is not yet print-ready.
- Thermal and flow analysis under agreed boundary conditions to compare cooling concepts before the geometry is frozen.
- Material route selection between commercially pure copper and copper-chromium-zirconium alloys against conductivity, strength, and temperature requirements.
- Validation planning: dimensional, CT, pressure, leak, flow, and conductivity evidence matched to the function of the part.
Copper AM Capability Scope
Copper parts are produced by green-laser (532 nm) LPBF, which suits reflective pure copper and copper alloys. Published data for this platform class covers build volumes from 160 x 160 x 200 mm through the 350 x 350 x 500 mm class, with 20-120 um layer ranges. These values are screening references, not unconditional finished-part guarantees.
Achievable walls, channels, tolerances, density, conductivity, surface finish, and lead time depend on the selected alloy, geometry, orientation, heat treatment, post-machining, and acceptance requirements. See the copper 3D printing capabilities page for the full scope and limitations.
What We Deliver
- Commercially pure copper and copper-chromium-zirconium alloy routes, subject to project requirements and availability.
- LPBF build planning, support strategy, powder-removal access, and witness coupon requirements.
- Heat treatment, CNC machining, polishing, cleaning, plating, and finished-interface requirements.
- Dimensional inspection, CT review, pressure or leak testing, flow checks, conductivity evidence, and documentation when specified.
- Prototype and low-volume production, with repeat quantities evaluated against the selected process route.
What We Need From You
Start with the part’s purpose and a drawing, CAD file or brief description. Share quantity, material preference and target delivery if known; unknowns can remain open for the first review. The RFQ page supports both online submission and an email option.
For a formal quotation, we clarify the relevant operating conditions, critical dimensions, finishing and inspection scope. STEP, X_T or native CAD plus a controlled drawing help define that scope. Straightforward projects can move directly to quotation; function-critical parts may need focused clarification before pricing.
Industry Coverage and Engineering Guidance
On July 21, 2026, Metal Additive Manufacturing reported the publication of COPPER 3DP’s copper additive manufacturing design guide. This is coverage of the guide’s publication, not independent testing or certification of our parts.
For current on-site engineering guidance, start with copper LPBF design rules or thermal design and validation. These connect geometry and material choices to manufacturing scope and the evidence needed for a finished component.
